Gridchinhall is not just an art gallery. We represent and promote artists and sell their works. We also invite them to live and work in our residency space, helping them integrate into the art.

We are frequently visited by Western art collectors: a number of large international museums have included our art center in their guides as a must see gallery for organized groups. We are highly rated for our space's unique atmosphere: you have the opportunity to breathe the fresh air of the Russian contryside while enjoying a definitely Europran approach to living and working environments. At our place the distant crow of a cockerel mingles with the chime of church bells while the smell of paint bears witness to the creative process taking place before your eyes. Here people feel at ease with each other and with the artists.
WE ORGANIZE EXHIBITIONS, PRIVATE SHOWS AND ART PICNICS, AS WELL AS ARRANGING MEETINGS WITH ARTISTS. WE PROVIDE INVITATIONS TO RESIDENCY OPEN DAYS, WHICH GIVE AN PPORTUNITY TO SEE THE CREATIVE PROCESS AS IT HAPPENS.
The residence is situated on the second floor of Gridchinhall's building. Its 120 square meters is divided into working and living areas. The studio has an exit directly onto the roof, with a picturesque view of Dmitrovskoe. Artists come to the Gridchinhall residence for inspiration, to immerse themselves in the local environment, for creative exploration, and to work fruitfully. At the same time, the art residence is an exchange of experiences, cross-cultural cooperation, new acquaintances, and new impressions. The residence has no formal constraints with respect to time: the minimum time spent by artists in Gridchinhall is a week, while the maximum is a year. Many residence periods culminate in exhibitions in the gallery on the first floor. The Gridchinhall art residence welcomes both Russian and foreign artists.
Gridchinhall is an integral part of the art environment and a respected gallery
We participate in every important Russian art event – Moscow Biennial, Moscow International Biennial for Young Art, Cosmoscow Art Fair. Works by our artists were presented at Documenta, Manifesta 10, the 56 Venice Biennale, and were nominated for the Kandinsky and Innovation Prizes. Our artists were also among the winners of the World Press Photo exhibition and were nominated for the Russian Kandinsky and Innovation Prizes.

OUR ARTISTS
We are associated with a number of artists. Some of them are well known while others are emerging artists. What they have in common is that they are all original artists with their own idiom, personality and view of life. Our center is the perfect art storage for their works, which are available for viewing and purchase any time. Our portfolio of art works is constantly developing. We are always introducing new names and adding new works. Even our regular guests can enjoy something new every time they visit.
DMITRY KAWARGA
«Kulik's hair». Topography of creative evolution.
Gridchinhall, 2010
Dmitry Kawarga is a mysterious artist who never appears in photos or on video. He has said that, "The artist's personality is inseparable from his creative process". This means that that the viewer does not need to know the artist personally; it is sufficient to be familiar with their works, the best representation of the artist. Dmitry Kawarga began his artistic journey in traditional painting, which gradually became more texturized and eventually turned into sculpture. Further experiments and investigation led him to interactive robotic sculptures. Kawarga creates his biomorphic sculptures from polymers that can be formed into any shape. He is currently engaged in the complex area of art known as science art, or scientific art. According to the artist, in his work he tries to materialize the processes of thinking, consciousness, and subconsciousness.

Metal, welding
Dmitry Gutov has been a central figure in Russian contemporary art for more than twenty years. He is not only an artist but also a theorist, art critic, ideologist, editorial board member, and writer. His metal Rembrandt's Drawings project was one of Gridchinhall's first exhibitions. These enlargements of Rembrandt's drawings have a depth of 35-40 cm. This creates a parallax effect – the image changes depending on where the viewer is and moves. Rembrandt's original image itself is observable only from a certain view point.

installation metal rods
It could never be said that Anya Zholud is an artist who "tackles pressing issues". Her rare, relevant, and essential confessions increasingly revolve around a ruthless depiction of reality. Metal rods are the main material Zholud uses to create her precise sculptures and installations. She was among the participants in the 53rd International Art Exhibition at Venice Biennale, and has been nominated for Russian contemporary art awards, including the 2007 "Innovation" Award and the 2008 Kandinsky Prize. Her works are found in the collections of the State Hermitage Museum and the State Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg and in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.

HOUSE AS AN ART SITE
At Gridchinhall we coexist with art 24 hours a day. Paintings are exhibited in the exhibition space and on the walls of the Gridchins' private house; a number of objects grace the garden, the parking area and even the roof. The owners of this unique home, with art incorporated in its interiors and landscape, have been the subject of interviews by magazines (Vogue, Elle Decoration, Snob, Afisha) internet portals (The Village, Houzz) and TV channels, from NTV (Dachny Otvet) to Dozhd (TVRain).

We'll be happy to see you. Come to us and find something new.
